Juneteenth and the legacy of Opal Lee #unitarianuniversalism #racialequity
Today, we remember the painful legacy of slavery and honor the significance of Juneteenth, the day news of emancipation reached enslaved people in Texas. We also celebrate the legacy of Opal Lee, whose tireless advocacy helped make June 19 a federally recognized holiday. As we commemorate this day, may we reflect on our shared history and renew our commitment to justice, equity, and freedom for all.
